Majorca

Alcudia

One of the all-time favourites, Alcudia offers a fabulous mix of attractions and is extremely popular with families and beach lovers. The superb golden sandy beach offers a good choice of watersports and runs the length of Alcudia Bay making it the longest stretch of beach on the island. For those looking for more than just building sand castles or soaking up the sunshine, the resort also has a lovely cosmopolitan Blue Flag marina, a delightful palm-lined promenade, a waterpark and has a good choice of shops, restaurants and bars, including quite a lively nightlife. Those looking for a little more traditional appeal can take one of the regular buses to the Alcudia’s Old town, with its city walls and twice weekly market. This is one of the island's oldest settlements with parts of the town dating back to the 14th century.

Cala Bona

Once a small fishing village, this growing resort still offers plenty of traditional Spanish charm coupled with lovely beaches, great restaurants and beautiful scenery and is the perfect escape for those seeking a little R & R. There are several sandy beaches and rocky coves with over 3km of sandy beach with watersports including sailing and windsurfing, stretching to neighbouring Cala Millor. The heart of the resort is around the harbour and pedestrian area where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants, many offering fish caught that day by the local fishermen. Nightlife is relatively low-key and is mainly based around the cocktail bars and restaurants dotted around the resort. For those looking for a little more action, can stroll along the waterfront to the lively resort of Cala Millor.

Cala d'Or

This picturesque part of Majorca has a superb rocky coastline with seven beautiful sandy coves gently sloping into crystal clear waters. The small modern marina is dotted with restaurants, the perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood, and the resort itself offers chic boutiques, a variety of cafes, international restaurants and bars, with a low-key nightlife centred around a few music bars and discos. There is a distinct cosmopolitan feel to Cala D’or and it is popular with families and couples looking for a good choice of entertainment and amenities in a relaxed, picturesque setting.

Cala Millor

Spread along a 7km bay on the north east coast, this great little resort is packed with amenities and attractions and is a popular choice for couples and families alike. The fabulous long sandy beach gently shelves into crystal clear waters, protected by the two rocky headlands making it a real favourite with the kids. In high season the promenade is awash with beach stores, souvenir shops, and open-air cafes serving anything from traditional tapas to burgers and pasta, the perfect spot to escape the midday sun and have a spot of lunch. Behind the seafront, the pedestrian area offers a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars, whilst golfers can take advantage of the golf course nearby and kids can enjoy a day out at the local safari or water parks. At night the resort becomes one of the liveliest on the east coast with family entertainment high on the list. Karaoke bars and pubs are the most popular and there are also a few discos to keep you dancing ‘til the early hours.

Cala Ratjada

Situated on the north east coast, nestled in a craggy coastline with several superb beaches on its doorstep. The main beaches at Son Moll and Cala Gat both have Blue Flag status and are very popular, whilst the coastal path northwards leads to several pretty coves appealing to those who prefer a more peaceful spot to lay their towel.

Once a small fishing village, Cala Ratjada has now become a popular resort with a modern marina mooring some impressive yachts, giving a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Around the resort there are plenty of bars and fish restaurants all with a lively atmosphere as well as a number of discos and behind the waterfront a selection of shops offer a range of souvenirs. This is the perfect place to stay if you’re a keen golfer as the area is dotted with some championship golf courses and for those with keen cultural interests, the medieval town of Capdepera with its 13 century castle (the largest on the island) and market, are nearby.

Ca'n Pastilla

Situated just 6km from Palma City, Ca'n Pastilla is ideal for those who want to be close to the many attractions of Palma yet still having all the benefits of staying in a beach resort. The long sandy beach is perfect for spending lazy days in the sun and there is a picturesque marina, good choice of shops, restaurants and bars and the Aqua City, Majorca’s largest water park is nearby. The palm-lined promenade stretches all the way to Playa de Palma and has many open-air cafes where you can enjoy watching the world go by. For those looking for a spot of serious retail therapy or a choice of fine dining, the short drive into Palma to hit the chic shops or many fabulous restaurants is a must.

Ca'n Picafort

The traditional resort of Ca’n Picafort is a peaceful and low-key resort with a superb sandy beach and a good selection of restaurants offering a wide choice of local and seafood dishes as well as international cuisine. There is a small quaint harbour and a weekly street market, giving the resort its charming traditional appeal as well as a delightful palm-lined promenade providing a relaxing atmosphere. The beach is fabulous and stretches for miles, from one end of Alcudia Bay, all the way to Alcudia itself, making this the perfect choice for families or couples looking for a beach-based holiday, in a peaceful setting, away form the hustle and bustle of the livelier resorts.

Illetas

Situated on the South coast, just 10km from Palma, the up-market resort of Illetas offers an exclusive atmosphere and high-end accommodation. Holidays here are luxurious and relaxing, appealing to the most discerning clientele. The small beach can get rather busy in the height of summer, but a stroll along the seafront leads to several small coves, perfect for a quiet swim or snorkel in the lovely clear water. Evening entertainment is focused around the small selection of restaurants and bars in Illetas, or, for those looking for a more upbeat tempo, boisterous Magaluf is a short distance away and for a more refined evening, head for trendy Palma. Illetas is all about relaxing, although its close proximity to the island’s capital also makes it ideal for those looking for a spot of retail therapy or some cultural sightseeing.

Magaluf

An old-time favourite, especially for the young crowd, Magaluf is a fun, friendly resort with plenty of attractions. The glorious wide sandy beach has great watersports and a fun atmosphere and the Western Water Park also has plenty of amenities for water lovers. The choice of bars, pubs and clubs is endless and offers some wild party nights, making this especially popular with the young set in high season when partying goes on from dusk to dawn. The huge choice of places to eat caters for all tastes and for those looking for a calmer atmosphere, Palma and Palma Nova are both nearby. Magaluf appeals to young singles and groups and families who want to stay in a lively resort.

Paguera

Situated on the southeast coast, Paguera is a lively resort with lots to do and is blessed with three fabulous sandy beaches (Playa Palmira, Playa Tora and Playa La Romana). For those who find lazing on the beach a little too relaxing, many water sports are available and for land lovers a small network of coastal hiking routes enables you to explore the area. The wide, palm-lined promenade is lined with numerous bars, cafes and restaurants offering a range of cuisine from traditional Majorcan dishes, German fare as well as the good old Sunday roast! What better place to enjoy your evening meal before going on to one of the live music bars or nightclubs. This is a lively resort although not in the same party league as Magaluf or Palma Nova and appeals particularly to families and couples.

Palma

The stylish, elegant capital with its cosmopolitan atmosphere is a city steeped in history and architectural beauty. The old town with its cobbled streets housing many traditional tapas restaurants and grand baroque architecture are in sharp contrast to the modern, stylish quarter with its designer boutiques, covered marketplace and huge harbour. The massive Gothic cathedral dominates the skyline and the palm-lined harbour front with its many cafes and restaurants provides the perfect spot to sit back and watch the world go by. Whether you want to sightsee or just wander, Palma is the perfect place to do it and appeals to those who want a little more than just a beach holiday.

Palma Nova

Palma Nova is one of the island’s most popular resorts due to its location close to the resort of Magaluf with its very lively nightlife and to the capital, Palma, with all its attractions as well the Aqua City waterpark. Palma Nova has a relaxed holiday feel and is a family-friendly resort with a lovely sandy beach and a good selection of restaurants and bars lining the promenade, a varied nightlife and a fantastic choice of entertainment and facilities. Palma Nova is popular with families and young couples.

Playa De Muro

A true holiday jewel, Playa de Muro is what holiday dreams are made of. This off the beaten track gem offers up-market style in a delightfully picturesque setting. Playa De Palma

Playa de Palma is the beach resort of the island’s capital, Palma and is the perfect place to enjoy the best of both worlds, combining the appeal of a beach based holiday with all the attractions of this fabulous city. Puerto Soller

Oozing traditional charm and character and surrounded by a breathtaking landscape this small port with its old-time character will captivate your heart.
